I’m talking about leftists who don’t actually want to engage in an honest discourse. I mean, I’m no libertarian, and I’m pretty sure thoseboringpolitics and I would disagree on pretty much everything, but from the posts of his I’ve seen, he isn’t a tool when it comes to discussions. This is something that I wish I was able to say about a number of the socialist bloggers I think have good insight… but some of them just don’t think a discussion with someone who doesn’t agree with them holds any merit at all.
Also, so as to seem like less of a hypocrite to anyone that recalls my posts in response to some random Paul supporter a while ago - well, for one, I was being influenced too much by people who hate discourse. This is hopefully no longer the case. My second point would be that I was dealing with someone who thinks Ron Paul shouldn’t take any responsibility for the newspapers produced in his name. That’s not to justify my reaction in its entirety, but I’m not sure how much discussion could have resulted from that anyway. I don’t know, maybe we could have gotten into what “personal responsibility” entails as it relates to an advocate of capitalism. But whatever, that’s in the past.
I’ll try to be less of a douchebag now, and I hope everyone else tries to respond honestly to people who aren’t trolls as well.
